INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

As the rear bumper cover is extremely heavy, the engine lifter may suddenly drop if the instructions listed in the repair manual are not followed. Therefore, always follow the instructions listed in the repair manual when performing this procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER

(a) w/ Towing Package:

(1) Temporarily install the 2 temporary bolts to the vehicle body.

(2) Using an engine lifter or equivalent, install the rear bumper cover with the 10 bolts, and then tighten the 2 temporary bolts.

Torque:

153 N·m {1560 kgf·cm, 113 ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

  • Using plate lift attachments or equivalent, set the rear bumper cover on a flat surface.
  • Be sure to perform the operation with 2 persons or more.
  • Be careful not to damage the rear bumper cover.

HINT:

Install the rear bumper assembly so that it is level to the ground.

(b) w/o Towing Package:

(1) Temporarily install the 2 temporary bolts to the vehicle body.

(2) Using an engine lifter or equivalent, install the rear bumper cover with the 6 bolts, and then tighten the 2 temporary bolts.

Torque:

153 N·m {1560 kgf·cm, 113 ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

  • Using plate lift attachments or equivalent, set the rear bumper cover on a flat surface.
  • Be sure to perform the operation with 2 persons or more.
  • Be careful not to damage the rear bumper cover.

HINT:

Install the rear bumper assembly so that it is level to the ground.

2. INSTALL WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (w/ Towing Package)

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the wiring harness connector.

(b) Connect the connector.

3. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER (w/o Towing Package)

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the connector cover.

4. PERFORM BLIND SPOT MONITOR BEAM AXIS INSPECTION
