REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the brake control with bracket relay, the stored gain value is reset.
  • Before replacing the brake control with bracket relay, record the set gain value.

HINT:

After replacing the brake control with bracket relay, the gain value is set to 5.0 (initial value).

NOTICE:

After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

6. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL

9. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL ECU (BRAKE CONTROL WITH BRACKET RELAY)

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and trailer brake control ECU (brake control with bracket relay).
