DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the vehicle stability control system has a problem. Check the vehicle stability control system when DTC P1578 is stored.

Brake System Malfunction

When the ignition switch ON and the cruise control system is operating, a malfunction in the vehicle stability control system is detected for 0.2 seconds or more.

  • Vehicle stability control system
  • ECM
  • Skid control ECU (Brake actuator assembly)

Before replacing the ECM, refer to Registration.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTCs (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Check for DTCs.

OK:

Vehicle stability control system DTCs are not output.

NG

GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM

OK

2.

CHECK FOR DTCs (CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs.

Click here

(b) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

HINT:

If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

  1. Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.
  2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button).
  3. Push the cruise control main switch to -SET to begin control of vehicle speed using the cruise control system.

(c) Check for DTCs.

DTC P1578 is not output.

(a) Replace the ECM.

CHECK FOR DTCs (CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs.

(b) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

  1. Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.
  2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button).
  3. Push the cruise control main switch to -SET to begin control of vehicle speed using the cruise control system.

(c) Check for DTCs.
