Toyota Tundra Service Manual: Transfer Shift Motor Position Circuit (P17AB)

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is detected when a short to ground is detected in the limit switch circuit, which detects the position of the transfer shift motor.

  1. Immediately after turning the ignition switch to ON and driving mode is being switched
  2. Short to ground in either the TL1, TL2, TL3, TL4 or GTL terminal circuit
  3. 0.02 seconds or more
  4. 1 trip detection logic
  • Wire harness and connector
  • 4 wheel drive control ECU
  • Transfer shift actuator assembly

WIRING DIAGRAM

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU AND TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A26 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the D68 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

INSPECT TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (LIMIT SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the D68 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
