Toyota Tundra Service Manual: Lifter Sensor Malfunction (B2653)

DESCRIPTION

When the position control ECU and switch assembly does not receive a sensor signal despite upward or downward movement of the seat by power seat motor operation, this DTC is stored.

  • Position control ECU and switch assembly
  • Front seat cushion frame sub-assembly RH (lifter motor)

WIRING DIAGRAM

PROCEDURE

1.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (LIFTER OPERATION)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.

(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY (LIFTER MOTOR CIRCUIT)

(a) Disconnect the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH (lifter motor) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

Tester Connection

Z4-3 - Z4-4

Lifter switch on

4.8 to 5.1 V

CHECK FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (LIFTER MOTOR)

(a) Reconnect the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH (lifter motor) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

4.5 to 4.8 V

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH)

(a) Disconnect the Z10 position control ECU and switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (LIFTER MOTOR)

(a) Remove the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH (lifter motor) (See page ).

(b) Inspect the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH (lifter motor) (See page ).

6.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH)

(a) Disconnect the Z9 position control ECU and switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
