Toyota Tundra Service Manual: Short to GND or Open in Buzzer (C1ABE)

DESCRIPTION

DTC C1ABE is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor LH detects a short to ground or open in the RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) circuit.

Both of the following conditions are met:
  • The blind spot monitor system is on
  • The blind spot monitor sensor is not sounding the buzzer but the buzzer receives voltage below a specified level for a specified period of time.
  • Blind spot monitor sensor LH
  • RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer)
  • Harness or connector

NOTICE:

  • When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor system is turned on.
  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs.

(b) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

OK:

No DTCs are output.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RCTA BUZZER [BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER] - BATTERY AND BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH)

(a) Disconnect the P19 RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.

(b) Disconnect the S5 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

P19-2 (BZN) - S5-3 (BUZ)

Below 1 Ω

P19-2 (BZN) - Body ground or other terminals

10 kΩ or higher

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

P19-1 (BZP) - Body ground

Ignition switch ON

11 to 14 V

P19-1 (BZP) - Body ground

Ignition switch off

Below 1 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

CHECK RCTA BUZZER (BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER)

(a) Remove the RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) with a new or known good one.

(b) Clear the DTCs.

Click here

(c) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

OK:

No DTCs are output.
